Free wellness screening at Aug. 5 Farmer’s Market

Monday, July 31, 2017

Be Well, the Putnam County Hospital wellness team, will be offering free wellness screenings to the community at the Greencastle Farmer’s Market on Saturday, Aug 5 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The complimentary screening includes the opportunity for individuals to learn their vitals such as height, weight, BMI and blood pressure. Glucose and cholesterol will also be tested with a simple finger-prick (no fasting is required).

Education and the opportunity to sign up for a cardiac score, lung cancer screen, AAA screen or a 3D mammogram that can have life-changing benefits will also be available.

The hospital’s registered dietitian will also be on hand with some nutritional tips and tricks to eat healthier.

When the screening is complete, individuals have the opportunity to meet one on one with one of the PCH certified wellness coaches. The coach will review all of the numbers from the screening to help persons understand where they are doing well and how to do better in areas that could use improvement.

The wellness coach can also forward the screening results to the individual’s primary care provider if they would like them to be a part of their medical records.

For questions about the screening persons may contact Lori Lucas at PCH at 655-2583 or llucas@pchosp.org.
