I-70 Incident

Thursday, August 3, 2017
The latest in a series of accidents along Interstate 70 in and around Putnam County closed both lanes of the eastbound interstate shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday near the 31-mile marker, 10 miles west of Cloverdale. The eastbound lanes were closed for at least two hours, the Indiana Department of Transportation reported. Although the accident was investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, no information was available at presstime Thursday as to the cause of the accident or possible injuries to the driver or damage to the semi. The photo was taken by Alexandra McHugh of Colorado, who grew up in the Greencastle area and is visiting locally and got to experience firsthand the I-70 mayhem that has been occurring much of this summer.
