Eugene Arnold Mills

Eugene Arnold Mills, 86, formerly of Heritage Lake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017.

Eugene was born in Robertdale on Sept. 15, 1930, the son of Arnold Nathan and Elsie Anna Paula (Radloff) Mills.

He was a 1948 graduate of Hammond High School. He earned his Master's degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1961.

Mr. Mills proudly served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1952.

He worked at AT&T, formerly Bell Labs, for more than 34 years until his retirement in 1989.

Eugene was a member of Mary Queen of Peace in Danville, the Knights of Columbus in Greencastle, and was a former member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Donna Mills; six children, Ann Felgen (husband Bob), Michelle Waters, Terese Carter (husband Monty), Jean McCorkhill (husband David), Lisa Galligan (husband David) and Kevin Mills (wife Tina); a brother, Norman Mills (wife Helen); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Mills, and a grandson, Erica deCallone.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1005 W. Main St., Danville, Ind., with Father Michael Fritsch officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Indianapolis.
