Two arrested for attempted trafficking on outside grounds at Putnamville
PUTNAMVILLE — Two people were arrested on drug trafficking charges early Wednesday morning in the parking lot area of Putnamville Corectional Facility.
Correctional Police Officers and the Office of Investigation and Intelligence took the man and woman into custody after witnessing them hiding a package behind a container located on the edge of the parking lot area.
Charles Eugene Riggles, 33, and Felicia D. Ford, 32, both of Indianapolis, were booked into the Putnam County Jail charged with possession/attempted trafficking/dealing methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony, and possession/attempted trafficking/dealing narcotics synthetic marijuana, a Level 5 felony.
The package found contained more than 30 grams of field-tested methamphetamine and more than 55 grams of synthetic marijuana.
Ford currently has a spouse incarcerated at Putnamville Correctional Facility, Marvin Ford, who is serving a 30-year sentence out of Marion County for attempted murder. He is currently under investigation and is in the restricted housing unit.
“Another example of excellent teamwork,” Putnamville Warden Brian Smith said. “It takes time, dedication, and effort to catch these guys in the act and the many people involved deserve praise for a job well done.”
The case has been turned over to the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office for official charges.
