Thursday, August 10, 2017

The Putnam County Public Library is partnering with the Red Cross for a blood drive set for Monday, Aug. 14 from 2-7 p.m. in the Kiwanis conference room.

The event is part of the library’s “Build a Better World” theme for summer reading and programs.

Potential donors must be in good health; at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with a signed parental consent form; bring a donor card, driver’s license or two other forms of ID; and weigh at least 110 lbs.

Before your appointment, be sure to maintain a healthy level of iron in your diet, get a good night’s sleep, drink an extra 16 oz of water or non-alcoholic fluids and eat a healthy meal, but avoid fatty foods.

Schedule your appointment online at redcrossblood.org or contact the library at 653-2755. Scheduling appointments in advance will significantly reduce your wait time.
