Indian Creek nips Cloverdale in girls' golf

CLOVERDALE — Indian Creek defeated Cloverdale 213-211 on Thursday in girls’ high school golf action at Clover Meadows.

Cloverdale sophomore Sammie Shrum shot a career-low score of 42 to win medalist honors.

“All of the girls are improving every day,” Clover coach Kyle Walter said. “I think we will be a very competitive team by the meets that really count.”

Cloverdale (213) — Sammie Shrum 42, Abby Walker 48, Hannah Nichols 56, Michaela Nees 67, Libby Dominguerz 71, Gayle Baugh 73.

Indian Creek (211) — L. Parsley 43, Button 49, Snider 59, Pendleton 60, Clint 61, D.Parsley 63.

Next match — Cloverdale hosts South Putnam on Monday.
