Man suffers leg injury at Raccoon Lake

HOLLANDSBURG -- Indiana Conservation Officers responded to a call Sunday afternoon about a man suffering a serious leg injury on Cecil M. Harden Lake at Raccoon State Recreation Area.

The incident took place around 12:40 p.m. James Crane, 45, of Covington, was reportedly attempting to keep two parked boats separated when he fell overboard.

He struck his lower leg on one of the boats, causing a deep laceration, Conservation Officers reported.

Crane was airlifted to Indianapolis for emergency medical treatment.

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the incident, although no foul play is suspected.

Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department, Parke County EMS and Parke County Sheriff's Department personnel assisted at the scene.
