Encore Expected

With its 10th reunion concert winding down at the Inn at DePauw, Average House Band members asked a rabid audience if they’d like the band to come back next year for another reunion show. The response was a rousing “Yes!” So despite rumors of its possible demise, Average House Band plans to return for a 2018 show next August. Saturday night, bassist Bill Hamm (top left) gets some kicks out of bandmate Steve Michael’s vocals, while (below) Danny Martin and his ever-present trademark hat get into the music as guitar wizards (bottom, from left) David Grissom and Sandy Williams wail away. Grissom, a special guest and Average House Band alum, lives in Louisville. He has played with John Mellencamp and others and is music director for The Dixie Chicks. Meanwhile, the two AHB drummers, Fred Badalli and Rod Kersey, each played a set in Saturday’s show.
