CRAWFORDSVILLE — Greencastle posted its best score of the season on Thursday to win a triangular meet

The Tiger Cubs had 190 strokes, while Southmont had 203 and Cascade had 207.

Rose White had her best-ever score with a 49 for the Cubs, while Macey Masten had a 45, Marin Nally and Bailey Shuee each had a 48 and Molly Ramey added a career-best 56.

“This was a new course for all but Macey, and the ball was played down throughout the round,” Greencastle coach Steve Paquin said. “Driving and ball striking has greatly improved in the past few matches.

“Chipping and putting is still a concern, but is improving,” he added. “The girls are working hard to get better in all phases and this match validates their effort. Great team effort and team spirit is a cornerstone for this team.“

Cougars place third — North Putnam surpassed its previous season-best score with a 226 in falling to Monrovia (198) and Danville (201) at Old Hickory.

Taylor Dixon is getting back on her feet scoring the low score for the Cougars with a 49.

“That’s still some strokes away from her average score in the low 40s,” coach Linda Patrick said. “Grace Timm was killing the course carding her best season score of a 54. Grace really only had two bad holes.

“Nyiah Goff shot a 58, attributed to the fact she had three penalties. Mady Williams, in only her second game, carded a 65, showing a three-stroke decrease from her first meet last Tuesday.

“Overall, there was great effort and improvement by all team members by keeping putts low, low penalties and fewer double pars.”
