Doris Jean Long

Doris Jean Long, 84, of Greencastle, passed away at home, with her family by her side on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017.

She was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Marion County, the daughter of Basil E. and Lorene (McCammack) Baldwin.

Doris married Russell H. Long on July 17, 1950. He preceded her in death, after 66 years of marriage, on Aug. 15, 2016.

She was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church.

Doris was an avid Prince fan and loved listening to his music. She also enjoyed shopping on QVC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; two grandsons, Darrell Wayne "DW" Long and Jeremy Lee Bunten.

Survivors include her three children, Deborah Landrum and husband Myron of Jamestown, Ricky Long and wife Cindy of Greencastle, and Anita Long (Arthur Tincher) of Greencastle; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Baldwin and wife Mary of Bloomington, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends and her beloved dog Autumn Rose.

Graveside services were conducted at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle, at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28 with Pastor Mark Strahm officiating.
