GPD Car Seat Clinic set Sept. 18 at PCH

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

The Greencastle Police Department (GPD) will conduct its annual Car Seat Clinic as a requirement for the Greencastle Police Department Permanent Fitting Station.

GPD is again partnering with Putnam County Hospital, (PCH) which will be the hosting site for the clinic.

The Car Seat Clinic will be conducted 5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 at PCH, 1542 Bloomington St., Greencastle.

The Greencastle Police Department will have certified car seat technicians on hand to check car seats.

Technicians will inspect car seats currently being used for the following issues: Does the child seat properly fit the child, is the child seat in good working condition, is the child seat on a recall list, is the child seat properly installed in the vehicle and if the child seat has gone past six years from the expiration date.

If a problem or defect is discovered with a child restraint seat, the technician can replace the seat.

If anyone has any questions regarding the Car Seat Clinic they can call 653-2925 and ask for Chief Tom Sutherlin or Capt. Chris Jones.

Child Passenger Safety Week, sponsored by NHTSA, is the week of Sept. 18-23.
