County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 7:05 p.m. Geri Danyel Capps, 27, Fillmore, was lodged at the jail for theft.

• At 5:44 p.m. Leanna Marie Boles, 25, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 5:40 p.m. Nathan Allen Blackburn, 20, Poland, was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 4:57 p.m. Russell Dale Williams, 43, Waterloo, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 4:55 p.m. Richard Anthony Correa, 45, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a warrant for auto theft.

• At 3:51 p.m. Frederick Lee Buttery Jr., 43, Greencastle, was taken into custody on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 9:38 a.m. Paul B. Armstrong, 35, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to seven dispatches and eight medical runs.

• At 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 503 S. Jackson St. GFD reset the alarm before returning to station at 11:50 p.m.

• At 4:56 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD assisted the Reelsville Fire Department with the extinguishment of a structure fire at 7969 S. County Road 1000 West GFD completed its assistance after control, extinguishment and overhaul goals were met, prompting a return to station at 5:29 p.m.

• At 5:38 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to reports of an unauthorized burn at 1052 Avenue E. Crews extinguished the flames and advised the resident of city burning ordinances before returning to station at 5:58 p.m.

• At 8:33 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to reports of a gas leak at 502 S. Jackson St. Crews monitored the air both inside and outside the structure, finding no leaks or problems with the gas line. GFD returned to station at 8:53 p.m.

• At 5:49 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a carbon-monoxide alarm at 107 S. College Ave. The alarm was found to have activated unnecessarily. GFD subsequently reset the alarm before returning to station at 6:02 p.m.

• At 4:57 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded to reports of a motor-vehicle accident at 3690 South U.S. 231. Damage was limited strictly to property damage after the lone vehicle left the roadway and struck a gas line. No injuries or patients were reported. Due to the nature of the gas line, crews had to use brass tools to shut off the gas valve to avoid electric shock. GFD also assisted in the removal of debris and fluids from the roadway before returning to station at 6:12 a.m.

• At 10:17 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 19 N. Indiana St. but was disregarded before leaving station at 10:18 a.m.
