Series record: DePauw leads, 4-0, after a 66-17 win last season in Greencastle. The Tigers are 2-0 in contests played at Hiram.

2016 meeting: DePauw senior quarterback Matt Hunt threw four touchdown passes, ran for one more and totaled 417 yards of offense as the Tigers moved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 66-17 victory over visiting Hiram. The 66 points were the most by a DePauw team (later topped by 69 at Allegheny) since November 4, 1939, when they scored 74 against Franklin.

Hiram: Junior quarterback Randy Tucker led the Terriers to a school-record 628 total yards in the win over Earlham. Tucker completed 28-of-42 passes for 369 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions, while rushing for 52 yards on 13 carries and two TDs. Hiram trailed 10-6 early in the second before outscoring the Quakers, 28-0, in the second period.

DePauw: The Tigers jumped out to a 21-0 lead and never trailed in the season-opening win at Mount St. Joseph. The Tigers totaled 498 yards (211 rushing, 287 passing) to the Lions’ 320 and the DePauw defense limited Mount St. Joseph to 38 rushing yards in 28 attempts. Junior Matt Labus made his first collegiate start and completed 24-of-37 passes for 287 yards and three scores. He also rushed for a team-high 81 yards on 10 carries. Ramon Lopez added 70 rushing yards in 17 attempts. Nolan Ayres caught five passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns with Andy Hunt finishing with eight catches for 91 yards. Matt Crupi led the defense with 12 tackles including two for loss, while also forcing a fumble.
