County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 7:12 p.m. Daniel Dale Frazier, 24, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant for theft.

City Police

One two-vehicle accident was investigated Monday afternoon by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 4:16 p.m. the mishap occurred on East Washington Street as Linda Littrell, 56, Greencastle, was stopped in traffic in a 2016 Toyota Highlander, waiting for a vehicle in front of her to turn left onto College Avenue.

Kenneth Kenworthy, 38, Greencastle, was also eastbound, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, when he said he looked down away from the roadway briefly and his vehicle struck the Littrell vehicle. Kenworthy said when he looked back up it was too late to brake and avoid a collision.

Officer Darrel Bunten estimated total damage at $5,000-$10,000.

Four recent citations were issued by city officers.

• At 11:27 p.m. Sunday, Riley Wolfgang, 20, Fortville, was cited for speeding by Officer Elsiana Crosby.

Stopped on East Washington Street, Wolfgang was ticketed for 35 mph in a 30-mph zone.

• At 6:52 a.m. Sunday, Patricia Tanner, 50, Brazil, was ticketed for speeding on Bloomington Street near South Street.

Stopped by Officer Nick Eastham, Tanner was cited for 58 mph in a 30-mph zone.

• At 2:35 a.m. Saturday, Cameron Ensor, 26, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Charles Inman.

Ensor, who was stopped on North Jackson Street, was cited for false or fictitious registration.

• At 1:34 p.m. Friday, Brian Melton, 34, Plainfield, was issued a summons from Officer Kyle Lee.

Stopped at McClure’s off Bloomington Street, Melton was cited for possession of paraphernalia.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 8:22 a.m. on Monday, Clifford D. Robertson, 50, Rockville was northbound on U.S. 231 approaching County Road 900 North in a 2006 International registered to Midwest Transport. Kevin L. Spikes, 64, Lafayette, was also northbound in a 2004 Peterbilt registered to Attica Ready Mix Inc.

Roberts had slowed for a vehicle turning right onto 900 North. Spikes told Capt. Tom Helmer he was slowing as well, but not enough to avoid hitting the rear end of Robertson’s box trailer.

Damage was confined to the back of Robertson’s trailer and the front of Spikes’ tractor.

The Spikes vehicle was towed.

The Roachdale Fire Department, Operation Life, Roachdale Marshal Mike Mahoy and Deputy Jacob Harrington all assisted at the scene.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to one dispatch.

• At 11:20 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to smoking at 1 Taylor Place. GFD reset the alarm before returning to station at 11:31 p.m.
