Laverl Vernon Spesard

Laverl Vernon Spesard, 89, Okeechobee, Fla., died September 25, 2017.

He was born Jan. 1, 1928 in Hume, Ill., to Noble and Nellie Agnes (Cutwright) Spesard.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Indiana and the American Legion.

Mr. Spesard was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jean Spesard, and his son, Thomas Spesard.

He is survived by his son, Ray Spesard of Kingman, daughter Sandra Steinhart (Jim) of St. Augustine, Fla., three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. until services at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
