Ivy Tech Greencastle hosting free Ivy Boo event Oct. 13 for community

Friday, October 6, 2017

Ivy Tech Community College Greencastle is hosting its first-ever Ivy Boo, a night of fun and fright for the whole family.

The event will take place 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at Ivy Tech Greencastle, 915 S. Zinc Mill Rd. Ivy Boo is a free event for all ages.

Ivy Boo will feature spooky educational sessions taught by Ivy Tech faculty members. These will highlight unique perspectives across a broad range of curriculum on the subject of paranormal activity.

Ivy Tech faculty members will discuss unique perspectives on death and the afterlife from their area of expertise. Sessions will last just 10-15 minutes and are designed to offer a vignette into course offerings at Ivy Tech Community College.

The evening will also include refreshments, trick-or-treating and family-friendly Halloween movies, along with a bounce house from Big Bounce Fun House Rental, a fire truck and smoke house from the Greencastle Fire Department and coloring books, candy and a police car from the Greencastle Police Department.

There will be activities for all ages.

“We are excited to host this new event for Greencastle and Putnam County,” Ivy Tech Greencastle Vice Chancellor Greg Cook said. “It’s a great way to engage the community and showcase our beautiful campus.”

Any donations collected during the event will support Ivy Tech Greencastle students. Join the event on Facebook.
