As a Cloverdale High School service learning project, students spent Friday afternoon out in the community, doing projects like washing windows, cleaning gutters or raking yards for older residents. About 375 students, essentially the entire student body, participated in the project with the goal of serving the community, learning to give and working together. Robert Freeland climbs a ladder to clean the gutters at 256 S. Main St. as fellow senior Noah Dean holds the bucket to collect the wet leaves. Meanwhile, Cloverdale band director Jared Metzger rakes the flower bed while Jacob Roberts holds back some of the greenery and fellow senior Nolan Gibson (background) bags up the weedy refuse.
