-- Imagination Portal Unplugged, 9 a.m.-noon

Enjoy the Imagination Portal without monitors, video games or music in the background.

-- Community Help Desk, 2-4 p.m.

PCPL has a computer technician available to diagnose and help repair computer and electronics. Most computer problems can be repaired in 20 minutes but if the problem is severe enough, or would take longer than 30 minutes to fix, it is recommended you take it to a professional.

-- Yarn Perch, 5-8 p.m.

Jo MacPhail will take her Yarn Perch (on the balcony above the lobby) every Monday evening to help those in need.

--- PCPL Book Club, 7-8 p.m.

Group will be reading “Swing Time” by Zadie Smith for the October meeting. Library has copies of the book available for checkout and for sale at the reference desk. For more information, contact Sarah Myers at smyers@pcpl21.org.

Tuesday, Oct. 17

-- Baby & Me, 11-11:30 a.m.

Share songs, action rhymes, a book and some playtime to help you bond with your baby, get to know other moms, and gain skills that help prepare baby for reading and writing later on.

-- Community Help Desk, 4-7 p.m.

-- Family Movie Night, 5:30-7 p.m.

This month is a Disney Halloween favorite. All ages are welcome. The movie is rated PG. Running time is 90 minutes. Snacks provided.

-- Play Mah Jongg, 6-8 p.m.

For those who know the game. Newcomers need to contact Janice at DarksidersMaxine@msn.com to arrange for instruction.

Wednesday, Oct. 18

-- STEAM Powered Wednesdays, 2-3 p.m. and 4-5 p.m.

Tinker, make and create at the library the third Wednesday of each month. Explore arts and crafts, simple circuits, chemistry and more. Each month will feature a different project but there will always be something to make, build, create or discover. Two sessions: One at 2 p.m. for the homeschool crowd and again at 4 p.m. for the after-school crowd. Same topic at each session. Primarily for children 6-12 years old, but all are welcome. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

-- Alternative Healing, 5-6:30 p.m.

Learn and practice healing alternatives from a variety of traditions for application in daily life that will benefit yourself, your family, the community, animals and the planet. Each session will begin with a Guided Healing Meditation/Practice that complements the topic to be discussed. Topic is healing touch/long-distance healing.

-- Sock Knitting, 5:30-7 p.m.

Learn to knit socks on double-point needles. Sock knitting 101 is for those with some knitting experience who would like to learn a new skill. Class size is limited to 6. If interested, pre-register at the circulation desk or by calling 653-2755.

-- Ukulele Group, 6-7 p.m.

Join in every Wednesday at 6 p.m. for an open ukulele jam. Beginners welcome.

Thursday, Oct. 19

-- Community Help Desk, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

-- Toddler Time, 10-10:30 a.m.

Sing songs, hear stories and nursery rhymes, move around to music and action songs, and make a craft. Ages 12-35 months.

--Preschool Storytime, 11-11:45 a.m.

Hear theme-based stories, move around and sing action songs, make a craft, and have a small snack. Ages 3-5 year olds.

-- Bridge for Everyone, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Open bridge game on Thursday afternoons in the Kiwanis room. All who enjoy bridge are invited to attend, regardless of skill level. Group facilitated by Dorothy Brown. For questions, contact Barbara Timm at btimm@PCPL21.org.

-- LibrarYoga, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Every Thursday the library is offering free Yoga sessions led by certified yoga instructors. Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level. Participants should wear comfy, stretchy clothes. Yoga mats, blocks and straps are available for your use.

Friday, Oct. 20

-- Computer Class: Cloud Computing, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Introduction to Cloud Computing will introduce patrons to cloud computing, demonstrate free cloud software from Google and Microsoft, and explain why cloud computing is the way the world will be using computers in the future. All classes are for beginners and are free and open to the public but registration is required since space is limited. Classes are two hours long with a break. -- Pumpkin Painting, 2-3 p.m.

You supply the imagination, PCPL will supply the pumpkins. Registration is required.

-- Literary Ladies, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The Literary Ladies book club will be reading “Men Explain Things to Me” by Rebecca Solnit for the October meeting. The library has copies of the book available for checkout and for sale at the reference desk. For more information, contact Sarah Myers at smyers@pcpl21.org.

Saturday, Oct. 21

-- Pokemon League, 1-2 p.m.

-- Pup Tales, 1-2 p.m.

Read to a dog at the library. Parents can sign up children for a 15-minute time slot to read to one of the PALS Pups by calling 653-2755.
