Richard 'Dick' M. Callahan

Richard "Dick" M. Callahan, 86, of Cloverdale, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017.

Born Nov. 25, 1930 in Beech Grove, he was the son of Alva and Marie (Himmelhaver) Callahan and was a graduate of Beech Grove High School.

He married Frances "Fran" Benton Callahan, and she survives.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.

Dick retired from IBM in 1987, where he had worked as a tool and die maker and engineer for 23 years.

He was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Thomas P. Callahan.

He is survived by his wife, Fran Callahan; son Michael (Diana) Callahan; daughter Katie (Kenny) Cooper; son James (Barb) Callahan; and daughter Patricia (Randy) Pittman; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday, Oct. 20 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
