City Police

One accident was reported recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

• A 24-year-old Greencastle woman sustained minor injuries in an accident Tuesday afternoon at the corner of East Washington Street and Bloomington Street (U.S. 231), City Police reported.

Caitlyn Gibson was taken to Putnam County Hospital with pain to her back, arms and legs and contusions to her right leg and both wrists, Officer Nick Eastham reported following the 4:47 p.m. accident.

Gibson was reportedly struck by a 2015 Chevrolet Spark, driven by Jacob Miller, 28, Ellettsville, who was turning south onto Bloomington Street and did not see the pedestrian walking eastbound, crossing Bloomington Street, because of the glare of the sun.

The vehicle struck her at a very low rate of speed, Eastham reported.
