Eagles top Covenant Christian, 40-15

South Putnam opened high school sectional football play on Friday night with a 40-15 win over Covenant Christian.

The Eagles took a 21-7 lead at halftime, and expanded that lead to as much as 40-7 before the Warriors scored the game’s final touchdown and added the two-point conversion.
