Author Sanders set to visit PCPL Nov. 9

Saturday, October 28, 2017

The Putnam County Public Library will welcome author Scott Russell Sanders on Thursday, Nov. 9.

Sanders will give a 6 p.m. talk titled “Taking Care of Home: Sustainability on a Small Planet.” The event is free and open to the public.

Our species, one among millions, is degrading the conditions for all life on this beautiful planet, he believes. As the human population swells and the power of our technology increases, we are consuming resources and disrupting natural systems at an accelerating pace. Because of this excess, Earth’s poorest people are suffering now, and rich and poor alike will suffer in future generations.

Author of “A Conservationist Manifesto” and 20 other books of fiction and nonfiction, Sanders will speak about how we might restore a balance between our way of life and the way of nature.

Sanders will also have several of his books for sale and signing.

The library is located at 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.
