100 Women to donate to Putnam County non-profits

Monday, October 30, 2017

The 100 Women Who Care of Putnam County makes quarterly donations to selected Putnam County non-profit organizations.

One-Hundred Women is a group of women who share the desire to give back to the local community. Many can make a small donation to an organization, but in coming together the group is able to make substantial donations.

Organizations interested in funding must have a member of 100 Women Who Care who is willing to speak on its behalf. At each meeting, three members have an opportunity to speak on an organization they care about. Members then vote for a winner, who receives $100 from each registered member.

For membership of 100 women, that means $10,000 given in one evening, and $40,000 total over the course of the year given to four Putnam County non-profits.

All women are welcome to join, which means a $500 contribution over the course of a year -- $100 at each of four meetings, and $100 to an endowment fund for the 100 Women Who Care of Putnam County organization to use to address future needs of the community.

All women are invited to attend the next meeting taking place on Nov. 1 at The Inn at DePauw. Registration and networking will begin at 5 p.m. with the business meeting scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. An appetizer buffet and cash bar will be available.

Women joining this meeting will be able to apply their registration fee of $100 to this meeting and all four meetings of 2018.

Organizations previously funded by 100 Women Who Care of Putnam County include Beyond Homeless, Gobin Summer Enrichment Program, Putnam County Humane Society, Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry, A-Kinetic Change and many more.
