County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

• At 2:45 p.m. Paul Henry Lantzy, 44, Rockville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 5:42 a.m. Sillon Obenson, 19, Indianapolis, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

• At 1:47 a.m. Bryan Findley Akers, 35, Indianapolis, was booked in on a court order.

Sheriff’s Department

• At 5:54 p.m. on Tuesday, Cody L. Summerlot, 25, Fillmore, was southbound on County Road 550 East about 1,000 feet north of County Road 50 North in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado.

Summerlot told Deputy Jeffery Freeman a coyote ran in front of him and when he applied his brakes the rear of the truck began to slide.

The truck hit the concrete wall of a bridge, which displaced the rear axle. The vehicle was towed.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 7:49 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, Cari J. Strasburger, 16, Russellville, was northbound on County Road 250 East just north of County Road 1100 North in a 2005 Ford Ranger when she lost control.

Strasburger told Deputy Josh Boller she fell asleep, which led to the truck leaving the roadway. She tried to correct her course, but slid sideways across the southbound lane and off the west side of the road, where the pickup rolled onto its top.

Strasburger was not injured.

The truck was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
