December computer classes at PCPL

The Putnam County Public Library will offer four computer classes this December.

Classes are free, open to the public, two hours long with a break, hands-on and designed to introduce patrons to productivity tools with beginners in mind.

Space is limited, so registration is necessary and can be done by contacting Mike Acsbok at 653-2755 ext. 118 or visiting pcpl21.org, the circulation desk or the reference desk.

• Friday, Dec. 1, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: “Introduction to Word Processing” will introduce patrons to using typewriter-like word processing software such as Microsoft Word as well as free and cheaper alternatives to Microsoft.

• Friday, Dec. 6, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: “Advanced Word Processing” will discuss the more advanced features of modern word processing software.

• Friday, Dec. 15, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: “Introduction to Spreadsheets” will introduce patrons to spreadsheet software, creating and using spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel and discuss cheaper and free alternatives to Microsoft.

• Friday, Dec. 22, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: “Advanced Spreadsheets” will cover some of the more advanced features of spreadsheet software.
