Boys

Greencastle (1-0) at Danville (0-0)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

The coaches: Bryce Rector is in his second year at Greencastle with a record of 9-15. Brian Barber is in his 19th year at Danville with a record of 314-115.

So far: Greencastle beat Crawfordsville 51-44 last week. Danville has not yet played this season.

History: Danville won 76-36 at Greencastle last year and has won 26 of the last 32 meetings.

Key players: Colin York scored 24 points and Brody Whitaker added 13 for Greencastle in its win over Crawfordsville. Senior Alec Burton led Danville in scoring last year at 17.1 points per game and in rebounding at 10.8.

South Putnam (1-0) at Turkey Run (0-1)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

The coaches: Greg Dean is in his fourth year at South Putnam with a record of 14-55. Jeff Thompson is in his eighth year at Turkey Run with a record of 59-83.

So far: South Putnam defeated Clay City , while Turkey Run lost 83-33 to Southmont.

History: South Putnam won 55-40 last year on its homecourt and has won 20 of the last 31 meetings. This will be the last meeting due to Turkey Run consolidating next year with Rockville.

Key players: Thomas Fanning had 11 points and Dalton Scott added nine for South Putnam in its opener.

Girls

Cloverdale (6-1) at North Putnam (3-4)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

The coaches: Matthew Langdon is in his seventh year at Cloverdale with a record of 53-88. Jarrod Duff is in his second year at North Putnam with a record of 4-26.

So far: Cloverdale beat Turkey Run 85-20, Riverton Parke 65-34, North Central 89-56 and Shakamak 81-30, lost 55-50 to South Putnam and beat North Putnam 57-27 and Eastern Greene 74-17.

North Putnam beat North Vermillion 28-26, lost 39-36 to Crawfordsville, beat Monrovia by forfeit, beat Covington 49-43 and lost 37-19 to Greencastle, 57-27 to Cloverdale and 77-47 to South Vermillion.

History: Cloverdale won 57-27 earlier this month in the county tournament, and has won 16 of the last 30 meetings.

Key players: Tori Combs paces the Clovers with 16.7 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. Sammie Shrum adds 16.1 points and 6.6 rebounds, while Abby Walker scores 12.9 points per game and Hailey Thomas adds 9.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.9 steals per game.

Payton Lyons leads North Putnam in scoring at 5.7 points per game, Hannah Sims scores 5.3 and Baylee Osburn adds 4.6. Osburn leads in rebounding at 4.7.

Tri-West (4-1) at Greencastle (4-3)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

The coaches: Nathan Begle is in his fourth year at Tri-West with a record of 40-35. Bradley Key is in his ninth year at Greencastle with a record of 116-70.

So far: Tri-West beat Indian Creek 61-58, lost 62-43 to Beech Grove and beat Crawfordsville 77-19, Sheridan 51-38 and Cascade 60-53.

Greencastle lost 51-45 to Edgewood, 50-22 to Owen Valley and 68-40 to Beech Grove to open the season before beating Southmont 53-38, North Putnam 37-19, South Putnam 33-32 and Crawfordsville 47-23.

History: Tri-West won 55-37 on its homecourt last year and has won nine of the last 15 meetings.

Key players: Jalyn Duff leads Greencastle in scoring at 10.1 points per game. Rose White adds 8.6 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds per game.

Junior Carli Wilson (12.7) and freshman Grace Sandlin (12.2) lead Tri-West in scoring.

Girls

South Vermillion (2-4) at South Putnam (4-1)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

The coaches: Jeff McCoy is in his first year at South Vermillion. Brian Gardner is in his third year at South Putnam with a record of 30-24.

So far: .

History: South Putnam won 44-37 on its homecourt last year and has won seven of the last 12 meetings.

Key players: Sophomore Mallory Hawkins leads South Vermillion in scoring at 22.0 points per game, and set a school record last week with 43 points at North Putnam. Sophomore Rebecca Berry is second in scoring at 10.6.

South Putnam is led in scoring by seniors Lillie Stein and Miranda Bieghler, junior Caitlin Capps and sophomore Lexi Vanihel.
