WEST LAFAYETTE -- Fifteen students from the South Putnam High School Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry course recently visited Purdue University to participate in a Kinetics lab along with students from Cardinal Ritter High School, Indianapolis.

The laboratory experience took place in the Hampton Hall of Civil Engineering and was sponsored by Steven Smith, Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Science Outreach coordinator, and Sarah Nern, Chemistry Outreach coordinator. Corey Thompson, professor of Chemistry at Purdue, was present to help the students with their lab work.

The AP Fridays at Purdue program is free to any Indiana high school interested in participating. The program was developed to provide Indiana teachers with the time and support needed to conduct suggested AP Labs with their students in a guided-inquiry format on a college campus.
