Susan Hetser Sendmeyer

Susan Hetser Sendmeyer, 71, formerly of Greencastle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 with her family at her bedside after an extended illness. She was born in Greencastle on Sept. 14, 1946 to the late James and Helen Hetser.

Susan was a 1965 graduate of Greencastle High School.

She spent many years living in Poland, Ind., where she enjoyed being in nature. She loved planting flowers and watching the birds and squirrels.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Heather Astumian and son-in law Mike Astumian of Carmel; grandson Michael; nephews Paul and Bart Karch; niece Toni Glassman; best friend Dorothy Fielding; and dear friends David and Theresa Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Melinda Ferrand.

A private memorial service will be planned for the spring which was Susan's favorite time of the year.

Those wishing to honor her life can send contributions in her name to the Putnam County Humane Society in Greencastle and to the Africa Missions Program at Faith Apostolic Church, 1212 E. 116th St., Carmel, IN 46032.

Susan loved cats and was passionate about the mission work her daughter does.
