Legion, Santa team up for Christmas party

Thursday, December 7, 2017

To the Editor:

On Saturday morning, Dec. 2, the Greencastle Sons of the American Legion Squadron 58, along with the Women’s Auxiliary, held our annual Breakfast and Christmas party with Santa.

Nearly 30 children and grandchildren of Legion members were registered with 70 adults in attendance. Our Legion has packed.

As Christmas music played in the background, a breakfast of pancakes, sausages, orange juice, chocolate and white milk was served. Games were played until Santa’s arrival.

As each child’s name was read, they came up and sat on Santa’s lap, received an age-appropriate gift and a stocking full of candy.

Everyone had a great time. We received many thanks for our Christmas party.

We would like to thank our “Man in Red,” Mike Lanham; Richard Coffin, Tony Sparks and Teddi Beard for cooking breakfast; and a big thank you to our servers and Santa helpers -- Julie Wood, Janie Rector, Grace Pedigo and Brenda O’Brien.

This Christmas party would not have been possible without the help of everyone. Thanks for a job well done.

Jeff Bray, Chairman, Emcee, Kids’ Christmas Party
