Putnamville Post conducts DUI enforcement patrol

PUTNAMVILLE — Troopers from the Putnamville District of the Indiana State Police conducted a driving under the influence (DUI) patrol this past Saturday evening into the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 17.

During the nearly six-hour patrol, troopers issued 39 traffic citations, 69 traffic warnings, and made six DUI arrests and 15 criminal arrests.

The criminal arrests were for drug violations, suspended driver’s licenses and miscellaneous warrants.

Sgt. Kris Fitzgerald led the extra patrol with Troopers Brad Fyfe, Justin Bell, Rondell Shelton, Ian Portteus, James Crisp, Kyle Hall and David Petrowski.

The Indiana State Police is committed to traffic safety by reducing dangerous and impaired driving.

Motorists are strongly reminded to not drink and drive, ISP officials said, adding, “If you plan on consuming alcohol, please use a designated driver.”
