Rotary Peace Fellow Monica Fennell of Greencastle (left) shares her experiences as a participant in the program that allowed her to study for three months at a Rotary Peace Center at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand at a recent Rockville Rotary Club meeting in the banquet room at the Thirty-Six Saloon in Rockville. On the right is are Rotarians Donna Paul (center) and Janna Scott who chaired the program for the meeting. Through rigorous academic training, field experience and global networking opportunities the Rotary Peace Centers program develops leaders who become catalysts for peace and conflict prevention and resolution in their communities and around the globe. Fennell also discussed the New Gen Peacebuilders program that involves engaging global youth ages 14-24 in peace education with the goal of achieving a more peaceful world. The Rotary Club of Rockville is one of more than 34,000 Rotary International clubs worldwide promoting community service, peace and understanding.
