County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 7:33 p.m. Tyler Aaron Alsup, 33, Coatesville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 5:53 p.m. Ferron Michael Yerdon, 47, Jasonville, was taken into custody for possession of marijuana.

• At 5:30 p.m. Douglas Paul Piper, 52, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 12:34 p.m. Adam Lee Falk, 31, Indianapolis, was booked in for resisting law enforcement.

• At 9:13 a.m. Travis Matthew Rambo, 40, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a writ of body attachment.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 8:14 a.m. Thursday, James Wright, 46, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Wright was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia with a prior and violation of probation.

One citation was issued recently by city officers.

• At 11:40 p.m. Thursday, Alfred Norman, 19, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Brad Hiatt.

Stopped on Judson Drive on the city’s East Side, Norman was cited for knowingly or intentionally operating a motor vehicle without ever being licensed.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated a pair of recent property-damage crashes.

• At 12:24 a.m. on Friday, Jacob A. Allen, 20, Coatesville, was northbound on County Road 850 East in a 1998 Ford Ranger when he ran off the road and hit a telephone pole.

Allen told Deputy Riley Houghton he reached down for a cigarette and when he looked up, he ran into a telephone pole.

The driver was evaluated and treated at the scene by Operation Life for a small abrasion on his left leg. He said he was going to have his brother take him to the hospital.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 11:22 p.m. on Thursday, David H. Duggan, 17, Greencastle, was northbound on County Road 300 West in a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he hit a deer.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.
