Norma Leigh Reed, 82, of Plainfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 at the Avon Village Care Center.

She retired from the Indiana Department of Correction: Reception Diagnostic Center in 2006.

Norma Leigh enjoyed many hobbies, including crocheting, painting, singing, playing the organ and planting flowers.

In her later years, Norma Leigh had an intense appreciation for the color purple, which became a routine topic of conversation between family and friends. Norma Leigh was a member of the United Community Church of The Nazarene.

Norma Leigh was the daughter of Albert E. Siddons and Mary Elizabeth (Mundy) Siddons of Cloverdale.

She was preceded in death by sisters Telitha Butler, LaVerne Balay and Ruby O'Neal and brothers Paul Henry, James Siddons, Maynard Siddons and Kenneth Siddons.

Survivors include husband Joseph Melish, sister Ruth Pryor, and brother Melvin Siddons.

Norma Leigh is also survived by her children, Donelda Sparks, Mick Terry, Mark Terry and Sean Reed; grandchildren Vangie Lawson and Chris Sparks; great-grandchildren Kaileigh Sparks, Beau Thrasher and Brett Stinson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Parker Pritchard and Briar Stinson.

Calling hours will be Friday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.

Funeral services will follow starting at noon with Pastor Darwin Pressler officiating.

Burial will follow in Walnut Chapel Cemetery in Putnam County.
