County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 7:17 p.m. Kevin Tyler Wheeler, 29, Brazil, was lodged at the jail for dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, dealing in a Schedule II controlled substance, dealing in a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction, dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, carrying a handgun without a license and maintaining a common nuisance.

• At 4:19 p.m. Gregory Lewis Nauman, 34, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 1:51 p.m. Jeremy Robert Miller, 39, Evansville, was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 9:09 a.m. Ulysses Scott Lewis, 22, Bloomington, was booked in for theft.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies have investigated three recent property-damage crashes.

• At 5:06 a.m. on Sunday, Ericka D. Minor, 24, Reelsville, was northbound on County Road 900 West when she lost control of her 2010 Dodge Caravan.

After leaving the road, her car hit a tree head on and had to be towed.

Minor told Deputy Josh Boller she was traveling about 30-35 mph on an uphill grade.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, David G. Kniola II, 30, Brazil, was westbound on U.S. 36 when he lost control of his 2013 GMC Sierra.

The pickup ran off the road and hit a large sign on the south side of the road.

Deputy Boller estimated damages at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 7:55 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, Gretchen S. Weliever, 16, Greencastle, was northbound on County Road 325 West in a 2011 Buick Enclave when she lost control on the ice-covered road.

The vehicle left the travel portion of the road and entered a ditch/culvert area.

Capt. Tom Helmer reported that Weliever was uninjured and that the vehicle was driven from the scene after it was pulled out of the ditch.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.
