Evalena Warfield

Evalena Warfield, 85, Greencastle, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 17, 2018 at Putnam County Hospital.

Born July 15, 1932, she was the daughter of Everett and Evalena Williams.

She graduated from Greencastle High School in the Class of 1952.

A member of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, she worked on the Board of Women, and did charity work for the county as a counselor for anyone in need of help.

She was part of Chuck Colson's Prison Ministry Program for 25 years and helped make it one of the most successful programs in the country. She was awarded by the NAACP for her work.

She is survived by her two sons, Roderick and Kimberly Warfield, and her granddaughter, Heather Warfield.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Greencastle.
