RUSSELLVILLE -- On Saturday, Jan. 27, the Judson University Choir will be returning to Russellville to present a Christian musical program at the Russellville Community Church followed by a buffet meal at the Russellville Community Center.

Judson University Choir to perform at 4 p.m. Saturday at Russellville Community Church, followed by a 5 p.m. buffet meal at the Russellville Community Center.

The program will begin at 4 p.m. at the Russellville Community Church. The meal begins at 5 p.m. at the Russellville Community Center.

The Judson University Choir has served as one of the primary "faces" of the university for more than 50 years, playing an especially crucial role in attracting new students to the campus in the early days of Judson College.

Recently, the Judson Choir has shifted its ministry focus just a bit to become a true worship leading ensemble, whose concerts feature specific narrative arcs, opportunities for congregational participation, and the use of a wide variety of instrumental accompaniment.

Warren Anderson, a 1986 graduate of Judson, directs the choir for which he served as student business manager in 1985-86. In 2012, he became the Judson University choir director and the director of Judson's Center for worship in the performing arts.

There will be a love offering taken during the performance. CDs will also be available to purchase at the program.

Immediately following the program, a buffet meal will be served beginning at 5 p.m. at the Russellville Community Center. One does not have to attend the program to attend the homemade beef and noodles meal that is open to the public.

Cost of the meal is a donation to help with the heating and other expenses at the community center.

The rest of the menu includes mashed potatoes, homegrown buttered corn, green beans, applesauce, rolls and butter, a variety of homemade desserts and lemonade, coffee, tea and water.
