In December, Megan Harris of Teachers Credit Union coordinated a fundraiser with her co-workers to donate to the Clothe-A-Child program.

Harris and her co-workers were able to raise $1,603.33 in the short span from Dec. 7-22 with the help of the community and TCU members.

Cierra Frazier was the top fundraiser, as she collected $640 for the cause.

TCU team members Megan Harris and Cierra Frazier presented a check for the $1,603.33 to Mental Health America of Putnam County Executive Director, Karen Martoglio on Jan. 9.

As an added surprise donation, Cummins Behavioral Health Systems also heard about the endeavor and contributed $400 to the fund, bringing the grand total in December for Clothe-A-Child to more than $2,000.

The Clothe-A-Child program gives selected youth an opportunity she or he may never have had, new clothing that they had the pleasure of selecting. With the help of counselors and local clergy, children in need are selected and able to satisfy not only the need for clothing, but also the desire to have clothing that gives them pride.

All of the funds will go to MHAoPC’s Clothe-A-Child program.
