DKG grant available for female college education majors

The Scholarship Committee of Delta Kappa Gamma is seeking worthy applicants for a grant for future teachers.

Marilyn Brackney and Cheryl Steuerwald have sent applications to the Putnam County high school guidance counselors and area university education department chairmen.

Female graduates of a Putnam County high school who are currently a sophomore or junior in college who is majoring in education are invited to apply for the Recruitment Grant-in-Aid being offered by Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Teachers.

One mission of Delta Kappa Gamma is to promote professional and personal growth of educators and excellence in education. Applicants should have a high GPA and a strong desire to become outstanding teachers. The grant will help with college expenses.

Applications are due Feb. 28.
