Wilson sets top mark at distance showcase

CRAWFORDSVILLE — Greencastle junior Emma Wilson competed in the Indiana Distance Showcase in Knowling Fieldhouse at Wabash College on Sunday.

Wilson won the 1,600-meter event in a blistering time of 4:54.97 — which is the top time in that event listed in the national MileSplit database.

Wilson is the reigning cross country state champion as well as the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races in track and field.

She was named Indiana “Runner of the Year” by Gatorade.
