Franklin College names Cummings new vice president

FRANKLIN -- Franklin College has named Dana S. Cummings as vice president for development and alumni engagement, serving on the president’s cabinet.

With more than 11 years of development experience in higher education, Cummings comes to Franklin from DePauw University where she currently serves as associate vice president for development.

Cummings will begin her new role at Franklin in early March.

She has previously worked for a variety of Indiana University divisions in frontline development roles, including the schools of optometry and education, and for the Indiana University Foundation.

Cummings earned a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University, a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University and holds her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

“Dana is a strategic thinker who utilizes data-driven strategies to develop creative solutions to opportunities and challenges,” Franklin College President Thomas J. Minar ssid. “With an intense passion for philanthropy, she is a proven team builder and has had an abundance of experience with cultivating strong partnerships with a wide variety of constituencies. I know she will be a resourceful partner for all of us engaged in building relationships for the college.”
