Man taken into custody after domestic disturbance at Marion Township residence

County and state police converge on a Marion Township residence for a domestic disturbance and subsequent flight of the subject into the woods.

An incident involving a gunshot fired inside a Marion Township home ended peacefully Monday evening, with the subject taken into police custody.

Around 3 p.m., Putnam County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 4700 block of East State Road 240.

The reporting party stated a gunshot was heard coming from inside the residence.

Upon the arrival of Deputy Josh Boller, the individual inside shouted not to come closer or he would harm himself.

Shortly thereafter, the man fled from the residence into a wooded area, later surrendering to authorities.

The individual was taken to the Putnam County Hospital for a 72-hour observation hold.

A complete report was forwarded the Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter for consideration of charges.

Units on scene were Putnam County deputies, Sheriff Scott Stockton, Indiana State Police, State Excise Police, Operation Life and Fillmore Fire and Rescue.
