Upcoming park events include Tools Day, Easter egg hunt

The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department has a number of special programs coming up within the next few weeks.

On March 2, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Putnam County Public Library’s Kiwanis Room the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Residents are invited to stop by to enjoy fun games, crafts, storytelling and of course, cake and ice cream a the library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.

On March 11 from 2-4 p.m. at the park maintenance shop in Robe-Ann Park, the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department will be celebrating National Worship of Tools Day by completing a build-it-yourself project sponsored by Black Lumber Co.

During the program, young carpenters will have an opportunity to build their own tool box and take home tools (adult supervision required).

Registration fee is $20 per person. Register early to claim your spot, registration closes March 9.

Finally, on March 24 the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt in Robe-Ann Park starting at 10 a.m.

Youngsters ages 1 to 11 years old will have the opportunity to hunt for Easter eggs filled with toys, candy and redemption tickets for prizes.
