County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 9:54 a.m. Tiffany Marie Rominger, 26, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

Wednesday

• At 10:03 a.m. Shelly Ann Thomas-Boswell, 37, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 9:03 p.m. Bryan Lee Polster, 42, Mooresville, was booked in on a writ of body attachment.

• At 6:48 p.m. Blake Allen Metcalf, 22, Bainbridge, was lodged at the jail on two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and two counts of conspiracy to commit theft.

• At 1:19 p.m. Andrea Nicole Tillberry, 25, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for bond revocation.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, Caitlin Marie Abdon, 23, Bainbridge, was arrested by Office Kyle Lee on Barnaby Mill Road behind the City Street Department.

Abdon was taken into custody for possession of syringe and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

One summons was issued by GPD officers recently.

• At 1:59 a.m. Thursday, Alexander Hubble, 26, Coatesville, was cited by Officer Brad Hiatt on Greencastle High School property.

Hubble was issued a summons to appear in court to answer charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, and then released from the scene.

One citation was also issued by city officers.

• At 10:43 p.m. Wednesday, Laqueedh McCombs, 27, Greencastle, was cited by Reserve Officer Amanda Long.

McCombs was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated seven recent property-damage crashes.

• At 5:35 a.m. on Thursday, Jeremy J. Owens, 40, Martinsville, was northbound on County Road 275 East just north of County Road 325 South in a 2016 Ford Fusion.

Owens told Lt. Donnie Pettit he lost control on the wet pavement as he entered a curve. The car left the road on the north side and hit a tree.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000. The vehicle was towed.

Deputy Matt Biggs assisted at the scene.

• At 7:26 p.m. on Wednesday, Alfred A. Mikles, 74, Reelsville, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2008 Ford Explorer when he hit a deer.

Deputy Tanner Brown estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.

• At 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Jason A. Lowry, 34, Clinton, was eastbound on U.S. 36 just past County Road 550 West in a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban when he hit a deer.

Deputy Biggs estimated damage at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 2:59 p.m. on Monday, Candy S. Watkins, 42, Avon, was southbound on State Road 75, stopped at U.S. 40 in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze. Watkins was waiting to turn left onto 40.

Deputy Brian Helmer reported that Watkins crossed the westbound lanes and stopped at the yield sign in the median before pulling into the eastbound lanes and the path of an eastbound 2007 Kenworth dump truck registered to Lazer Excavating, Morgantown, and driven by Jalon M. Baker, 43, Martinsville.

Baker told Helmer he could not avoid the collision and hit the right front of Watkins’ vehicle.

Watkins said she did not see the truck.

Operation Life transported Watkins to Hendricks Regional for her injuries.

Watkins’ vehicle was towed. The dump truck sustained two flat tires but roadside help came to change the tires.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.

• At 8:03 p.m. on Sunday, Dylan T. Webster, 18, Roachdale, was northbound on County Road 725 East in a 2014 Ford Focus.

Webster told Deputy Tanner Brown that as he rounded a corner, a deer ran into the passenger side of his car.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

• At 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, Kelly J. Grable, 38, Clayton, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.

Grable told Deputy Tanner Brown a deer ran into the roadway and she swerved right to avoid the animal.

The truck then struck the end of a guardrail. Grable said she continued eastbound to find a place to pull off the road.

Christian I. Zeffel, 18, Fillmore, was also eastbound in a 2002 Volkswagen Passat when he came upon metal debris in the road from Grable’s crash.

Zeffel said he could not avoid the metal debris, which went under his vehicle, damaging it.

Both vehicles were towed. Damage was estimated at $50,000-$100,000.

• At 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, Christian A. Whitt, 18, Staunton, was northbound on County Road 325 West about 1,000 feet south of County Road 450 South in a 2007 Dodge Caliber.

Whitt told Deputy Biggs he lost control on the wet road, leaving the west side of the road and entering the ditch.

Whitt’s vehicle had to be pulled from the ditch, but sustained minimal damage and was driven from he scene.

Damage was estimated at less than $1,000.
