Years of Service

Wednesday, March 14, 2018
Indiana National Guard Command Sgt. Maj. James H. Martin Jr., of Reelsville, receives a gift from Maj. Gen. David C. Wood, 38th Infantry Division commanding general, in Indianapolis in recognition of his recent retirement after 33 years of service. He most recently served as the senior enlisted adviser and top non-commissioned officer for the division, a position he held since May 2015. “I couldn’t ask for a finer NCO than CSM Martin over the last three years,” said Wood. “He set the standard for soldiers throughout the division and always did the right thing.” Martin and Wood instituted several programs, for instance Life Fit, which the Indiana National Guard now uses across the organization. The program ensures personal and physical readiness for Hoosier Guardsmen.

  • Which is which? Using "right" and "left" after their names would have been easier for readers to know "who is whom".

  • CSM Martin (left), MG Wood (right)

I am so proud of CSM Martin's 33 years of military service and all that he has done for the Soldiers of the Indiana Army National Guard!
