Norma June Morlan

Norma June Bond Morlan, 93, formerly of Reelsville, and Hopedale, Ill., passed away at 1 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Upland, Calif.

Norma was born Feb. 18, 1925, the daughter of Eva Parish Bond and Harry Bond of Reelsville.

She married Carl K Morlan of Mecca, Ind., on March 2, 1946 in South Bend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and brother.

Surviving are her daughters, Wanda Morlan Eilts (husband Terry) of Hopedale, Ill., and Denise Morlan Graham (husband Steve) of Portland, Ore. Grandchildren include Chad and John Graham of Chicago; Jessica and Jonathan Hughes of Portland, Ore., and Emily Graham of Denver, Colo. Also surviving is one great-granddaughter, Emma Hughes of Portland, Ore.

Both Norma and Carl were active and devoted members of the Church of Christ.

Norma became a member of the U.S. Cadet Nursing Corps in 1943 and took her training at Union Hospital School of Nursing in Terre Haute, graduating in 1946. She spent the next 40 plus years as a registered nurse.

She was an artist, crafter, Sunday school teacher, devoted wife and mother and friend to many. She was passionate about living life and helping others anyway she could. She believed in God and the power of prayer. She will be missed but will be remembered with fond memories.

Memorial graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, at a later date.
