Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated a pair of recent property-damage accidents.

• At 11:36 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, George W. Allin, 63, Brazil was westbound on U.S. 40, approaching County Road 625 West in a Ford Fusion.

Allin told Deputy Josh Boller that a 2005 Buick entered his lane of travel from the median. Patricia S. Sheldon, 78, Reelsville, was driving the Buick.

In order to avoid Sheldon’s vehicle, Allin said he swerved to the right, sideswiping the 2002 Ford Focus driven westbound in the right lane by Tyler J. Buttery, 23, Greencastle.

Both Allin’s and Buttery’s vehicles ended up off the roadway in a yard. Both were towed.

Sheldon’s vehicle was not damaged.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

Buttery was cited for driving without financial responsibility.

• At 3:39 p.m. on Friday, March 9, James E. Androuskey II, 33, Bloomington, was stationary in traffic on northbound U.S. 231 in a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu.

Androuskey told Deputy Boller he noticed a 2005 Dodge Dakota approaching from behind, not slowing down. The pickup then rear-ended his car.

Dillon S. Sutherlin, 16, Greencastle, was northbound in the Dodge and told Boller he had looked down and then when he noticed the stopped traffic, he could not slow down in time.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
