Foster M. 'Butch' Copner Jr.

Foster M. "Butch" Copner Jr., 79, of Roachdale, passed away at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville.

He was born May 12, 1938 to the late Foster M. and Ruth (Smith) Copner Sr. in Parke County.

Butch was a 1957 graduate of Roachdale High School, served in the United States Air Force for four years, then retired from Ford Motor Co. after 32 years of service.

Butch loved to fish, hunt and play euchre. You could often find him playing basketball at the park, and worked a crossword puzzle almost every day.

Butch leaves behind two daughters, Christal A. Copner, Lincoln, Neb., and Jean A. (Carl "Mike" Jr.) Abney, Crawfordsville; grandchildren Sara (Keith) Krohn, Ryan Copner, Zane (Heather) Ritter, Amanda Hodges, Darrin Hodges, Katie Hodges, Jessica Wilson, Jared Hodges and Kayla Hodges; several great-grandchildren; brother John W. (Gertrude) Copner; sister Linda (John) Roach, several generations of nieces and nephews; and close friend Pat Allen.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marylyn (Bill) Gerald.

Funeral services for Butch will be held at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, on Sunday, March 25 at 3:30 p.m. with friends and family celebrating.

Visitation will be 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
