Robe-Ann Park Easter egg hunt postponed until noon March 31

Friday, March 23, 2018

Due to the Winter Storm Advisory and the "wintry mix" predicted to begin early Saturday morning, the annual Easter egg hunt scheduled for Saturday, March 24 at Robe-Ann Park in Greencastle has been postponed.

The egg hunt will be postponed until next Saturday, March 31 at noon, the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department has announced.

"Not only are we hoping to avoid this weekend's winter weather, but we are also working around other planned Easter activities already scheduled for next weekend throughout the Greencastle area," Park Direcxtor Rod Weinschenk noted. "These include Breakfast with the Easter Bunny in Roachdale from 8-10 a.m., Millpond Health Campus' Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for 11 a.m. and Roachdale's annual Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m.

"We hope this doesn't 'freeze' too many Easter activity plans," Weinschenk added, "but next weekend's 45-50 degrees and sunny weather predictions, are a lot more attractive than that predicted for this weekend."

Prizes in the noon March 31 egg hunt at Robe-Ann Park will include five bicycles donated by Headley Hardware, five giant sports-oriented Easter baskets from Greencastle Pediatric Dentistry, a family season pass to the Greencastle Aquatics Center, along with many other contributions from McDonald's, Charlie's Restaurant, CVS, Casey's General Stores, Scoops, Jimmie Johns, Pizza Hut, Monical's Pizza, Humphreys' Outdoor Power, JTN Outdoor Power Equipment -- Exmark, Completely Nuts and Candy, Walmart, Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department, Texas Roadhouse, Creation Museum, Wonderlab, Indiana Pacers and the Weinschenks.
