Bruce L. Albright, 92, of Greencastle, died Wednesday, April 4 2018.

He was born Dec. 18 1925, the oldest son of Charles and Marcella Albright of Terre Haute.

Bruce grew up in Terre Haute, where he graduated from Garfield High School and Indiana State University.

He married Dorisann (Corbin) Albright on Sept. 28 1951. Together they had two sons.

Bruce served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46. He later served with the Honor Guard in Greencastle for many years. In addition, Bruce was the veterans' service officer in Putnam County for 10 years.

In addition to being active with the VFW and American Legion, Bruce was a well-known member of the Greencastle Elks Club, and was a past exalted ruler. He was also worshipful master of the Masons.

Bruce was a member of the Sherwood Christian Church, serving as teacher for adult Sunday school, elder and deacon.

He was also active with the Putnam County Playhouse, both onstage and behind the scenes.

He is survived by his wife, Dorisann (Corbin) Albright, and two sons, Randy Albright, Speedway, and Jay (Pam) Albright, Greencastle, and their two sons, Robert Wesley Albright and Benjamin Albright.

In addition, Bruce is survived by one sister, Norma (Gene) Ave, and their sons, Chuck Ave, Kurt Ave and Waite Ave.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marcella Albright, and a brother, Donald Albright.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Brazil.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 6 with a 7 p.m. Elks Memorial Walk-Thru service at the funeral home.
