President McCoy to address D.C. session on international education and global literacy

DePauw University President D. Mark McCoy will participate in a panel discussion on “International Education, Job Skills and Global Literacy” at an event next week in Washington, D.C.

The Wednesday, April 11 program at the Capitol Visitor Center is part of the 2018 Worldview Roundtable being presented by NAFSA: Association of International Educators.

McCoy will be joined on the 3:15 p.m. panel by Angel Cabrera, president of George Mason University; Harry J. Holzer, professor of public policy at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and nonresident senior fellow, Brookings Economic Studies Program; and Ned McCulloch, global issue manager for skill development and education, governmental program, IBM Corp.

NAFSA is the world’s largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange. NAFSA’s 10,000 members are located at more than 3,500 institutions worldwide, in over 150 countries.

NAFSA believes that international education advances learning and scholarship, fosters understanding and respect among people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives, is essential for developing globally competent individuals.

McCoy was appointed DePauw’s 20th president on March 7, 2016 following a national search, and took office July 1, 2016. He was inaugurated in October 2016 during ceremonies over Old Gold Weekend.
